Current Projects

STEAM Project

The STEAM Activity Kits Team is our new team from last semester. Their focus is to address the education gap children face when they are unable to attend school due to extended hospitalizations. To address this problem and foster educational accessibility, the team is designing and producing easy-to-use STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Activity Kits for young children in local hospitals to continue learning through creative and innovative means. The team is currently working on the production of their first kit (a motorized model car), and is making contact with local children’s hospitals.

VR Therapy for Phantom Limb Pain

The DxH team researching the quantitative data behind VR Therapy for Phantom Limb pain is completing the methodology and background research. The team has met with Dr. Bhatt on the feasibility of the project. Now, the team is working towards getting into the clinical research next semester using EEGs.

Gamified VR Neuropathic Pain Project

The VR Therapy for Phantom Limb Pain project is adding gamified components. The team’s goal is to make an interactive, engaging, and fun alternative to mirror therapy, which is the current standard. Check out a sneak peek of one of our mini-games, Circle of Cannons!
